VIN Scan & Auto-Report Loader for Car Auction Dealers

Description

User Role: Car dealer attending live or online car auctions. Problem: Dealers need to scan multiple VINs quickly (often dozens per hour). Manually entering VINs or waiting for each report to load is slow and inefficient. There is no seamless way to scan VINs continuously and review vehicle data on-the-go. Proposed Solution: A mobile app feature that allows users to: Bulk Scan VINs: Use the camera to scan multiple VIN barcodes in a row with no wait time. Background Report Fetching: Automatically fetch vehicle history reports in the background as scans happen. QuickView Interface: Present summarized vehicle reports (title, accidents, mileage, market value, etc.) in a fast-loading, scrollable interface. Report Details On-Tap: Tap any QuickView entry to open the full report instantly. Offline Mode: Cache recent scans if internet is unstable; sync reports once reconnected. Export Options: Ability to export scanned VINs and report summaries to PDF, CSV, or send via email. Benefits: Massive time savings during auction walkthroughs. Increases efficiency and confidence in bidding. Enables better vehicle sourcing decisions. Technical Considerations: Barcode scanner SDK integration (e.g., ML Kit, Scandit). VIN validation logic. Asynchronous background API fetching for report services (e.g., Carfax, AutoCheck). Local storage caching (SQLite or Realm). Summary UI with expandable detail views.
